The day finally came, Adidas must've been planning this for years and the star aligned in order to make it happen. Their two greatest footballers in the brand's history finally sat down for a long conversation that is definitely not for Real Madrid fans. Especially for those who developed desdain for Leo Messi over the last 20 years.

There were may gems in this conversation that are worth telling. From their talk about the almost extinct No. 10 player to Messi's humility by still placing Diego Maradona above the rest. Two moments were far above the rest in this half-hour conversation between two of the greatest No. 10 footballers to ever step on a pitch. Zinedine Zidane had a chance to sit down with Lionel Messi for an intimate conversation.

Zidane only needs one word to describe Messi

At a certain point of the conversation, the off-camera interviewer was instructed to ask both players to use three words to describe the other. 'Zizou' did not hesitate: "It's just one word: 'Magic'. Because in the end, what I mean is Leo and I are not together every day. So today is an important day for me because I can tell him how much I admire him. All the people who like football and these people are different. And I think it's magic, pure magic. Magic in the sense. Before receiving the ball, he already knew what needed to be done. And especially for me, as someone who understands football. Watching you on the field, I almost knew what you were going to do, you know? It was like a connection. But when I see him doing what he does, I just go like, 'That's it'."

Messi reminds Zidane of the unique honor they both share

During a rapid Q&A section with cards, Zidane asked Messi to menton the most important goal he scored so far. But the Frenchman interrupted him by saying that goal was fairly recent, alluding to his goal in the World Cup final against France. Messi was quick to remind him both of them could talk about that feeling. The only difference is that 'Zizou' scored in two World Cup finals, Leo has only done it once. The entire conversation is worth a watch, even for Real Madrid fans who are not obsessed with bashing Messi at every chance they get. Meanwhile, we'll keep waiting for the brave network or company that puts together a similar setting but with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo face-to-face. Will that ever happen?
