About Ireland Premier Division

There are 10 clubs in Ireland Premier Division. Each club plays the others four times (home and away) for a total of 36 games. The method of calculating the points of a single game is that the winner gets 3 point and both sides get 1 point for a tie. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference and then goals scored. At the end of each season, the club with the most points is crowned champion. The winners of league can qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The runner-up together with the third placed team in the table can qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
