PSG offer Neymar to Barcelona, player makes decision

PSG are keen to offload Neymar and look to offer the Brazilian to former club Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain want to dominate world football, but the Qatar-backed club are clueless about how to achieve that goal. The false assumption that money would do the trick lays credence to how little the club owners know about the game, especially in Europe.

With state money, PSG have made humongous investments in buying the top players in the world. Despite the massive outlay on players, the club is yet to make a splash in Europe. They have dominated the Ligue 1, but it is one league that enjoys little to no respect in football circles.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi believes that getting the best players in the world would do the trick. They have not taken into consideration the style of play and player chemistry. Perhaps, it explains why despite having several stars in the squad, they were unable to go past Real Madrid in the second round of the Champions League.

PSG have spent massive amounts on Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and have Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Veratti on their payroll. Without failure in Europe, the club seems tired of Neymar and wants to offload the Brazilian.

Letting Neymar go

Rumours in France have been rife with a potential Neymar sale this summer. The failure to land the Holy Grail of European club football is taking its toll on PSG, and they want to let go of one of their marquee players. Recent reports suggest Barcelona have the opportunity to sign the Brazilian playmaker.

PSG want to cut Neymar off their payroll to balance their books following the obscene renewal of Kylian Mbappe’s contract. Neymar is clear about what he wants to do, and it does not align with the ideas the top hierarchy of the club want.

Perhaps, PSG would have to open their purse again and pay Neymar to leave the club since they believe the solution to every problem is throwing money at it.

The obsession with winning a maiden Champions League title seems to be the driving force behind acquiring all the shiny toys on the planet, with a loss in the final all there is to show for it.

Willing to remain in Paris

PSG were able to stave off the interest of Real Madrid in Kylian Mbappe, but it cost an arm and a leg. The Parisian club may have overstretched itself in that move and now want to balance their finances. Neymar is the player they hope to cash in on to achieve this feat.

Once upon a time, many would have jumped at the opportunity to sign Neymar, but his stocks have dropped. Still prodigiously talented, the 30-year-old has been hampered by injuries, with few clubs ready to take a punt on him.

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona, and they feel the Catalonia club would be interested in bringing him back to the Nou Camp.

Neymar has refused to leave the Parc Des Princes even though he has no information about the idea brewing in the top echelons of the club. He claims to have settled in Paris and is loving life there.

Meanwhile, any interest by Barcelona in Neymar would have to wait as they are actively involved in signing Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski.
