Earlier, German publication "Bild" had also highlighted the possibility of the 27-year-old player returning to Portugal, with a transfer fee in the range of €15 million being considered realistic.

Silva, currently at RB Leipzig, seems discontented with his role in the team and is contemplating a departure from the club this summer. Commenting on the squad planning for the upcoming season, Benfica vice-president Luis Mendes stated, "There might be some adjustments, but there won't be major changes."

Silva, whose contract with RB Leipzig runs until 2026, is not a guaranteed starter for the team. In the current season, he has made 44 appearances across various competitions for RB Leipzig, scoring 9 goals and providing 9 assists.
