All going well for PSG

So far, this season has been relatively straightforward for PSG, who are seven points clear of second-placed Lens in the standings.

The addition of Lionel Messi means they have the most feared attacking force in world football right now, as they target a first Champions League triumph, while reclaiming the Ligue 1 title is also an ambition after they lost out on the final day of last season.

The defending champions saw their title-winning manager Christophe Galtier depart in the summer for Nice, while goalkeeper Mike Maignan and midfielder Boubakary Soumare left for AC Milan and Leicester City respectively.

Under Jocelyn Gourvennec, Les Dogues currently sit tenth in the table, but Pochettino says it will be a difficult game.

Poch: Lille success deserved

"It's a challenge because Lille are a very good team - strong, with good players," the Argentine said. "They're the reigning champions and deserve to be because they won after a season of 38 matches.

"We should have done better, but they deserved it. So it will be an important game and a tough one, but our goal is to win the three points."

Mbappe is set to return to training early next week, while Messi is a doubt with a knock.

There is good news for Sergio Ramos, however, with the veteran Spanish defender nearing a return to full training as awaits his debut following a switch from Real Madrid.
