Milan on the march

Pioli guided the Rossoneri to their highest league finish since 2011/12 last season when they came home second to rivals Inter Milan and they've started this term in strong form too.

They sit second and are level on points with leaders Napoli after winning eight of their opening nine games, drawing the other, and look like serious Scudetto candidates.

Milan's latest test comes on Tuesday when they welcome 12th-placed Torino, who have only won one of their four away fixtures this term.

Pioli plays down Torino worries

Despite Il Toro's struggles on the road, having only scored three times in four games, Pioli isn't taking anything for granted and feels they can cause problems under the guidance of new boss Ivan Juric.

"The schedule is packed with tough fixtures," Pioli said. "Torino are a good side and are playing really well at the moment. Jurić is doing a fantastic job - as he did with Verona - and it will be a tough game.

"I expect Torino to be combative and positive, as they have been in recent matches. We know what to expect; they have a strong squad and are doing well.

"We'll have to play well from a technical standpoint and we can't let Torino have anything because they like to press man to man. They have a similar style of football to Verona."
