With 102 goals, Messi has become the third player in history to score over 100 goals for his national team, following Iranian star Ali Daei and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Daei scored 109 goals for the Iranian team during his professional career, while Ronaldo has scored 122 goals for Portugal to date, and Messi has now scored 102 goals for Argentina. Both Ronaldo and Messi's goal tallies are expected to continue to increase in the future.
