Busy summer for PSG

Donnarumma joined the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer from AC Milan in the summer but has been unable to dislodge Navas in the PSG goal.

The 22-year-old made 215 appearances for the Serie A side and arrives in Paris carrying a lofty reputation after a breakthrough Euro 2020.

Donnarumma played a key role as Italy were crowned European champions, helping his side to penalty shootout successes over Spain in the semi-final and England in the trophy decider.

The youngster has been benched for PSG's opening three wins over Troyes, Strasbourg and Brest, although Mauricio Pochettino's men still await their first clean sheet.

Competition not an issue

However, the Italian is keen to fight for his place and insists the competition motivates him.

Speaking to Football Italia, Donnarumma said: "I want to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world and in order to do that, it's necessary to sacrifice and be humble.

"I came to Paris to play. PSG sought me and wanted me. And I wanted PSG.

The former Milan man added: "Competition doesn't scare me. Keylor is a big goalkeeper, but I am here to play. The competition is good and can help us improve.

"There won't be problems, Keylor is a great person, we are friends and there are no problems, competition is normal in big clubs.
