Top 3 Kylian Mbappe moments for PSG

The shocker of the year happened when Kylian Mbappe chose to remain at Parc De Princes with Paris Saint-Germain instead of moving to Spain to play for Real Madrid before the club's fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Words have been traded, reports have been filed, commentaries have been offered and predictions have been made about the 23-year-old's decision since then. He has also stated his chief objective for reunion: to win the coveted UEFA Champions League title with PSG.

The fans of the ten-time French Ligue 1 champions are over the moon and are preparing themselves to see their star boy alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi next season. There will be a lot more moments to look forward to but now, we will reflect on three (3) of the biggest Mbappe moments as he prepares for a new chapter at PSG.

First season at PSG

The Parisiens took him on loan in the 2017/18 season before signing him for €180 million the following season. PSG were the most lethal they had ever been in the league that season, as Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar ran riot in the league.

Mbappe had his lowest-scoring season in the league, however, but he went on to win the UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award. He went on to lead the line for France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup which he won and bagged the Kopa Award for the best young player in the world at the Ballon d'Or awards.

He also finished in fourth place on the main rankings which was a culmination of the success that his first year at PSG was.

Back-to-back league top scorer award

Mbappe bagged his first top scorer award in the 2018/19 season for PSG after scoring 33 league goals. He retained the award in the 2019/20 season with 18 goals but it was enough to help PSG to back-to-back domestic trebles.

Unfortunately, COVID cut football short which denied fans from seeing more of him in the league but his efforts were enough to bag a number of individual awards in France as well.

At this time, he had already established himself as an important part of the club and they had begun to plot all the ways they could keep him beyond his contract.

Becoming the youngest player to 100 goals for a Ligue 1 club

In December 2021, Mbappe scored his 100th goal for PSG to become the youngest player to score 100 goals for a Ligue 1 club.

He has gone on to score 119 goals in the league and 171 goals in all competitions for the club. He also mentioned that he has a goal of becoming PSG's top scorer of all time, a record which stands at 200 goals.

30 goals in the 2022/23 season is achievable and this will become another special moment for the young striker.
