Manchester City open up on their plans for Julian Alvarez

Julian Alvarez will join Manchester City from River Plate in the summer. There were ideas of farming the player out on loan to garner European experience.

Not many clubs have the resources that Manchester City can boast of. The club has deep pockets and have started building on a pull for world-class stars. Manchester City can attract some of the best players. Pep Guardiola is a lucky man.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola has spent about a billion pounds on player transfers, and the buys are not over. Pep has brought 35 players to Manchester City in six years.

Pep is unrivalled in the number of resources available to him. Perhaps, it is because the club believes he is the only one that can deliver a Champions League title to the club. In this regard, the Spaniard has come up short, but more players are arriving for the cause.

Two more players will join the club to improve their chances of winning the Champions League - Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Rumours are rife that Alvarez would go out on loan, but the club has denied it.

Alvarez to play at Manchester City

Manchester City signed two players who would be competing for the same position next season. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez are two prodigiously talented young stars who will turn out for the Sky Blues from next season.

Haaland is the more established star and should get into the team, but reports suggest that Alvarez will go on loan for European experience. It has been an unending discourse surrounding the Argentine player, but Manchester City have rebuffed all the rumours.

The assumption around the Argentine forward is that he may be too raw to contend for a starting spot immediately at Manchester City. Ferran Soriano has confirmed that Pep Guardiola has the youngster in his plans for the upcoming campaign.

The additions to the City squad makes them even more formidable ahead of the new campaign. If Alvarez comes good, it will be hard to bet against City winning the Champions League for the first time next season.

Hot on the heels of Alvarez

While Julian Alvarez was doing his business in Argentina, several top European clubs were hot on his heels. Before he signed for Manchester City, he was already under the spotlight of clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. The two clubs were tracking his progress through the youth ranks, but they were beaten to the punch by Manchester City.

Martin Blackburn of The Sun reports that Manchester City's chief executive officer claims there have been many loan offers for Julian Alvarez. He, however, insists that the Argentine youngster is not leaving the club.

Martin Blackburn reports that Alvarez will be part of pre-season with Manchester City, and he thinks he will stay. The report also denies Barcelona is part of the clubs interested in the player.

With Gabriel Jesus in Arsenal links over a summer switch, and uncertainty over the futures of Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling, the immediate future of Alvarez seems to be at Manchester City. The Argentine forward would bolster the City frontline should Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez or Raheem Sterling leave the club.
