Toffees come unstuck again

Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne were all missing at Molineux, where Alex Iwobi's second-half effort wasn't enough after Max Kilman and Raul Jimenez had struck in the first period for Bruno Lage's men.

It was a disappointing performance from Rafa Benitez's side, who have lost their way after their flying start.

Everton had kicked off the season in some style with ten points from their opening four matches with England striker Calvert-Lewin on target in three of those as he continued his rich vein of form from last term.

But, after beating Norwich City 2-0 six weeks ago, Everton have mustered a solitary point from four games to slip off the pace and they now find themselves in tenth place in the table.

DCL frustrated on sidelines

Calvert-Lewin, who has been out of action since August with a muscle injury, faces a few more weeks on the sidelines and admits it has been frustrating not being able to help his team-mates through this difficult patch.

"Unfortunately we've got a few players out injured at the moment and I feel a bit helpless," he said.

"I want to be able to help my team-mates and play - and I can't wait to get back playing - but I've got full confidence that the lads can carry it through."
