About Latvian Higher League

Ten teams in total will compete for Latvian Higher League, one of which is upgrade from 1.Liga. Each team will meet each other four times, as home team and guest team twice each. Each team shall be scored three points for a win, one point for a draw on the League Table and zero point for a defeat. The team with the least points will be relegated to 1.Liga. They will be replaced by the first of 1.Liga in next season. The team with second least points and the second of 1.Liga will fight for relegation plays-off to earn a ticket for next season. The first of Latvian Higher League enters the international competition UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round. The second, third and fourth placed teams qualify for the UEFA Europa League in the first qualifying round.
