About AFF Championship

AFF Championship, formerly known as the Tiger Cup, is an international football championship held every two years. From 2008, Japanese auto-company Suzuki bought the naming rights for the competition, and the competition has therefore been named the AFF Suzuki Cup for sponsorship reasons. It is hosted by the ASEAN Football Federation. All the teams are from Southeast Asia. There is no host country of AFF Championship, which is arranged by the ASEAN Football Federation. There will be ten teams in the final stage, of which one will be selected by the qualifying matches. The teams are first divided into two groups for a single round robin match. The top two teams advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals and final are scheduled on a double round robin basis. If a match ends in a draw after normal time, 30-minute extra time is played and if the match is still drawn, penalties are held.
