Paul Pogba set for Man United exit; in talks with Madrid and Juventus

Paul Pogba is set to end his six-year reunion with Manchester United in the summer, according to Sky Sports.

Pogba has been touted with a move away from the club for the past two seasons but he has stayed the course of his Old Trafford contract which runs out at the end of this season.

The 2018 World Cup winner has not had the best of periods at Old Trafford, after returning to the club from Juventus in 2016 following his earlier exit in 2012 after he failed to get any opportunities with United’s senior team following his promotion from the under 23 side.

In his first season at the club, he won the Carabao (League) Cup. However, it has only gone downhill from there with Man United as a whole becoming a worse team. Pogba has been one of the biggest scapegoats for the fan base and for the media during that time.

However, his talents have seen him attract many suitors during his time at Old Trafford and it looks like the now 29-year-old is willing to take up a new challenge.

Recently, it was rumoured that the midfielder had agreed to a four-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain, which he will sign at the end of the summer as the club looks to bring in players who Kylian Mbappe is comfortable with as they explore all available options to keep him at the club.

Now, it is Real Madrid and Juventus that have been reported to be in discussions with the player’s entourage. Madrid are preparing to move some of their senior midfielders on and are hoping to bring in Pogba, whose experience will help balance out the young midfield signings they are targeting.

Meanwhile, Juventus have followed Pogba since he left the club in 2016 and have tried on previous occasions to take him back to the Allianz Stadium. The club are now reportedly in discussions to re-sign Pogba, who played a vital role in their UEFA Champions League run in the 2014/15 season.

Interim Man United boss Ralf Rangnick said after Tuesday's thrashing at the hands of rivals Liverpool that as many as ten signings will be made when he assumes his sporting director consultancy position in the summer while Erik ten Hag takes over the dugout.

Rangnick values the Le Havre youth product but with his decision not to continue at Old Trafford, his is one of the positions within the squad that will have to be filled.

Pogba suffered an injury in that game as well, leaving the pitch in the first ten minutes of the game. The diagnosis is a calf injury, but the extent has not yet been determined.

Gary Neville, analysing the game in the Sky Sports studios at full time, believes that with six games to go, that may have been the last that Man United fans have seen of Pogba in a United kit.
