Neymar ready for last dance

Brazil talisman Neymar has said next year's World Cup in Qatar will be his last one.

Neymar was left brokenhearted eight years ago when he missed Brazil's infamous semi-final when they were thrashed 7-1 by Germany in the Maracana.

And they were left disappointed once again in Russia in 2018 when they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Belgium in the quarter-finals.

It will be 20 years next since Brazil claimed the most recent of their five World Cup triumphs but, as he will be 30 by the time the tournament starts, the Paris Saint-Germain forward believes he will not feature in the 2026 tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

He has scored 69 goals in 113 games for his country and has received a nomination for this year's Ballon d'Or alongside his PSG team-mates Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

However, he does not know if he will have the mental capacity to continue playing international football once the tournament draws to a close.

"I think it's my last World Cup," he said. "I see it as my last because I don't know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football any more.

"So I'll do everything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realise my greatest dream since I was little. And I hope I can do it."
