Bale seals victory

The Real Madrid forward converted two penalties against Belarus before scoring an injury-time winner in a 3-2 victory and he has called on his teammates to focus on taking maximum points from the home fixture against Estonia.

Wales lost their opening game of the qualifying campaign 3-1 against Belgium in March but a late goal from winger Dan James gave them a crucial 1-0 win over the Czechs in their second Group E fixture.

World Cup dream for Wales

Rob Page's men reached the last 16 at Euro 2020, losing 4-0 to Denmark, but now their aim is to qualify for the World Cup finals for the first time since 1958.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Bale said: "We're just fully focused on trying to win the group. If we win every game, we qualify. It's still in our hands, but there's a long way to go and we have to take each game as it comes.

"We can't look two months down the line. We need to focus on the next game, which is Estonia, hopefully get three points and move on to the next one. Against Belarus everyone was expecting us to win and it turned out to be one of the hardest games."
